Billingham Players present - the first British performance of ‘Clarence Darrow’s Last Trial’, by Shirley Lauro
This play is set in 1932. It concerns the famous American lawyer Clarence Darrow. Having acted successfully in many high-profile cases, Darrow appears for the defence in a notorious case in Hawaii. Lieutenant Ramsey and his mother-in-law have been tried for murdering a Hawaiian man who allegedly raped Ramsey’s wife, but the jury failed to return a unanimous verdict. Darrow believes that he can successfully defend them in the re-trial, but Prosecuting Counsel is a young Hawaiian woman. It’s a gripping drama, based on a real case.
Ticket prices : Monday : £7 ( £5 concessions i.e. student/senior ),

Rebecca Ferguson plus Special Guests
Rebecca Ferguson, runner-up in last year’s ‘The X Factor’, performs tracks from her debut album ‘Heaven’ - co-written by Rebecca herself and full of retro sounds, from jazz to Motown.
“Ferguson’s debut album is good enough to challenge Adele for chart supremacy with at least three ballads so understated and confident that they recall the heydays of both Mary J Blige and
Macy Gray” The Sunday Times Culture
